| A White Christmas by Chris Maxwell Common matches and marketing catches leave executives grinning. As they lowered hopes of seasonal sales success, grateful hearts result from money spent, deals lent, promises bent. For those whose businesses shiver, God’s dreaming of a white Christmas. Curious mix-ups and malfunctioning fix-ups leave multitudes confused. As eyes notice sins blocking light nearby and far away, grace longs to fall down the chimneys of humanistic methodology. For those willing to glance at His face, God’s dreaming of a white Christmas. Children list their wishes. And wait. Parents check their possibilities. And wait. Patients hope for better health. And wait. God’s dreaming of a white Christmas. If the story of a Baby is true, maybe darkness can become light this year. If the story of a Baby is true, maybe smiles can cover faces this year. If the story of a Baby is true, maybe people feeling isolated can make friends this year, maybe people troubled by trials can feel a new breeze this year, and maybe people worn weary by failures can notice the cleansing power of grace.God? He’s dreaming of a white Christmas. Not snow. Not ice. He dreams of a price paid to show lives changed. Joy on a birthday celebration. Dream. With God, dream. He can bring a brightness and brilliance to us this year. Let us let Him climb down the chimneys of our habits, wake us from our passive sleep and shake us as He hands us the gift of grace with a smile on His face. This December let us remember God’s dream. Allow Him to turn us white. Article from Billy Dilworth’s Holiday Guide, December 2001.
