| Job Jar by Ariel Allison Lawhon Here’s how it works. Make slips of paper, write a chore on each one (preferably something you don’t want to do, like scrubbing the toilet or cleaning the base boards), and place them in a jar. On one sheet of paper, write the word “Grace.” Every time your kids do something they’re not supposed to do, have them pull a chore from the jar, and that is their punishment. If they get the “Grace” paper, explain God’s grace to them, how we deserve punishment for our sin, but because of what Christ did for us on the cross, we don’t get what we deserve. Every mom I know who uses this tool loves it. Wish me luck … Ariel Allison Lawhon is a mother of three young boys. Visit her blog at www.themoabclub.blogspot.com.
